Raffia vs. Wraphia

Raffia is an all natural product that has properties similar to straw. It is untreated - water based inks are used to add color. It comes in packs or hanks (twisted bundles).

Wraphia is a synthetic material, usually rayon or nylon. Color is achieved by dying the resin during manufacture. Wraphia is available on spools.

The products are often used interchangeably, however, Raffia is preferred when a 'natural' look is desired.
