Established in 2008, Lollipop Deisgns opened as an avenue for Sissy Somerville to express her creative thinking and spread the joy she finds in custom jewelry making. Using semi-precious stones and sterling silver, she turns what many people see as "rocks" into beautiful pieces of art.

Sissy wanted a way to package her one-of-a-kind pieces that was in the spirit of her company - capturing the essence of Lollipop Design. Her packaging is three-fold. First, every set is placed into a custom printed cotton drawstring bag. This acts as a safe place to store and keep the jewelry. Next the cotton bag is nestled into a set-up jewelry box, which helps to protect the piece. Finally, the entire box is placed into a custom printed Orchard Bag with tissue paper.

The entire packaging solution was designed around the jewelry Sissy creates. The cotton bag protects the jewelry from scratching or tarnish, while the set-up jewelry box is durable and won't squash. The most important bag to Sissy's marketing is the Orchard Bag. It's white with a huge image of a colorful lollipop on the outside. Its draws attention where ever it goes and is sending Lollipop Designs business from all over.

"Everyone uses and reuses the bags" says Sissy, "it's so cool!" Since Lollipop Designs is a start-up company, cash flow is easily managed on all of the packaging that is used. Small runs of custom printed cotton bags, boxes and Orchard Bags, allow Sissy to print only what she needs each month. Plus, she uses JIT Distribution, which gives her a little flexibility. At Bags, we manage her packaging inventory so she is never without her unique packaging for her jewelry.
