Indochine started out as a small retail shop in downtown Boulder, Colorado. Owner Hugo Brooks saw a need for quality Asian furniture and antiques and opened the shop doors in 1995. By traveling to Asia and the Pacific Rim countries, Hugo was able to meet the traders and craftsmen directly. This allowed him to purchase directly and personally ensure the quality and authenticity of his products. By eliminating the middle men, Hugo is able to pass the savings on his traditional Asian products to his customers. In 1997 Indochine became such a big hit with the locals and visitors in the Boulder area, that they expanded into a 14,000 square foot warehouse location. Growing demand for Indochine's unique and beautiful Asian decor forced them to double their store size again in 2003. Indochine has an expansive collection of fine Asian furniture, accents, and wall decor. Be sure to check out their nine magnificent online showrooms at www.homeimport.com. In April, Hugo contacted us here at Bags for some packaging insight. His initial order consisted of five reams of multiple colored tissue paper that happened to be on special that month. Hugo got a great deal on the brightly colored tissue paper for Indochine. Tissue paper is a perfectly affordable way to dress up your products. It's a great way to also add a little color to your normal every day bags and boxes. You can change your accent colors with the seasons without changing your signature packaging. Indochine then decided to customize their bags with our In House Short Run Printing Solutions. Hugo wanted to use our 8 x 4? x 10? and 16 x 6 x 13 Natural Kraft Paper Shopping bags. Indochine ordered two cases in each size and we printed them on one side with their bright red logo and artwork. From order date to bags in hand, we printed one thousand shopping bags for Indochine in just a week and a half! The final product was a gorgeously designed packaging solution that fit Indochine's unique business and product. Be sure to check out our website www.bagsco.com. There you can find great deals on our specials and clearance pages as well as answers to your packaging questions. If your in the Boulder area and in the market for Asian decor, be sure to make a stop at Indochine. Their showrooms exhibit the largest and most authentic selection of Asian antiques around. Or if you have any questions for Hugo or the staff at Indochine, feel free to email them at info@indochinehomeimport.com. They are happy to answer your questions and find the treasure that you are looking for. For each month's featured customer, Bags tries to showcase a customer who has used a unique approach to their packaging, and to share a little about their business with you. Hopefully this provides a bit of insight to how other businesses select their packaging products and to how Bags can help you find the right packaging for your business. Perhaps you can find a business similar to yours among the companies listed here. We continually provide links (see right column) to past selections ... but all of our featured customers' pages are also available. Contact one of our sales consultants for more information.
