Great American Quilt Factory
GREAT AMERICAN QUILT FACTORY, a Denver-area quilting supply shop, opened in April of 1981. In the eighteen years since that opening, owners Nancy Smith and Lynda Milligan have grown the business to become not only the largest quilt shop in the Denver area but also the parent company of DreamSpinners® and Possibilities®, publishers and producers of sewing-related products. 
In 1987 the store moved to its present location at 8970 East Hampden Avenue in Denver. This 5000 square-foot retail store stocks over 4000 bolts of 100% cotton fabric and the widest selection of quilt-related books, patterns, tools and supplies in the region. With knowledgeable clerks available to answer most any quilting or sewing question the store is a gathering point for quilters from all over eastern Colorado and Wyoming as well as western Kansas and Nebraska. Hundreds of samples of quilts and other projects adorn the walls and cabinets of the shop. Enticing displays provide the visitor with inspiration and motivation. Local crafters and teachers on the national circuit teach an average of fifty classes per quarter. Classes are offered for beginners, intermediates, and advanced students covering a wide variety of techniques ... doll making, hand quilting, machine quilting, fabric dyeing, creative clothing, beading and embellishments, and many more. Add to this classes for children based on a new award winning series of sewing books called "I'll Teach Myself"™ (published by DreamSpinners®/Possibilities®). The class schedule is available as an eight-page, tabloid-size newsletter that includes quilting hints, coupons, new products, games, contests, and regional notes of interest to quilters. They selected a crystal-clear shopper with their logo neatly printed on one side so the customer's choice of materials shows through ... overlaid with the GREAT AMERICAN QUILT FACTORY logo. And once at home, the bags become a perfect place for project storage .... and are reused over and over. Of course, each time the bag is used the customer is reminded of ..... The GREAT AMERICAN QUILT FACTORY! We've seen these bags become hot items at quilt shows and fairs ... What a great way to advertise and provide an additional service to customers.
