Classic Facets Ltd. will celebrate 15 years in business with the New Millenium. Owner, Mikki Rainey, started with a consignment clothing shop in 1985, but after a few months found just clothes to be boring – and on a hunch decided that rhinestones were going to the next big thing! She contacted her Mom in upstate New York and asked her to shop a few garage sales for old costume jewelry. Mom came through with a liquor box of stuff that sold out in 4 weeks. But – in that time – local folks started bringing in THEIR old jewelry and Classic Facets was born! In just 2 short years, Mikki sold the clothing aspect of the business took the jewelry line and moved next door to deal solely in antique jewelry. A year later, Classic Facets moved to a much more upscale address where it thrived for 12 years and just last year made a final leap to the beautiful 1500 square foot gem of a space at 942 Pearl Street in Boulder.
