Customer of the Month
The Butterfly Pavilion & Insect Center
6252 West 104th Avenue www.butterflies.org Have you ever wanted to be surrounded by at least 1000 free-flying butterflies? Visit the Butterfly
Pavilion and enter the conservatory and you will see all the colors of the rainbow flying around you. If you wear a colorful shirt
or one with flowers on it, they will even land on you. Seeing a butterfly up close is indeed a treat! The Butterfly Pavilion opened in July 1995 to foster an appreciation of butterflies and other invertebrates (animals with backbones) and to educate the public about the need for conservation of threatened habitats. It is the first stand-alone non-profit insect zoo in the United States. While famous for the butterfly conservatory, the Pavilion is also home to other insects and their relatives. The most famous is Rosie, the tarantula, who loves to walk across the hands of all the visitors. . Visitors who are brave enough hold Rosie are awarded with a sticker to proudly wear for the day.
There are many glass terrariums that contain all sorts of crawling and flying critters. In another room are a group of invertebrates
from the oceans - starfish of all sizes and colors along with anemones and other inhabitants of the tide pools. Once again,
visitors are allowed to hold and touch these animals. The newest exhibit Shrunk! offers a larger-than-life view of a typical
backyard that includes giant animatronic insects and interactive exhibits. You can get up close and personal with an ant!
The Butterfly Pavilion also includes outdoor butterfly gardens, a nature trail, museum store and deli. A year ago, the museum store decided to change its image and began using Natural Kraft Shoppers
for packaging their products. Two sizes are used and each has the 2-color logo of the Pavilion. Since the bags are made from at
least 50% post consumer material and 20% post-industrial material, water-based inks and are 100% recyclable, they fit perfectly
with the Mission of the Pavilion to do as little harm as possible to the environment. Nikki Bushman, the Museum Store manager,
loves the fact that people using the bags are helping to preserve the fragile habitats of these gentle insects. They are also
advertising the Pavilion as they reuse the bags. If you are ever in the Denver area, visit the Butterfly Pavilion for a fun day with the butterflies.
Who knows, they might think you are a flower and visit you up close and personal! For each month's featured customer, Bags tries to showcase a customer who has used a unique approach to their packaging, and to share a little about their business with you. Hopefully this provides a bit of insight to how other businesses select their packaging products and to how Bags can help you find the right packaging for your business. Perhaps you can find a business similar to yours among the companies listed here. We continually provide links (see right column) to the past year's selections ... but all our featured customers' pages are also available. Contact one of our sales consultants for more information.
