Sandy and Bob Cooke had been collecting antiques for years when they decided to have a go at making a business out of their hobby in 2002. Unsure of how much demand there would be for their particular style of antiques, they started out by renting a small space in an antique mall. With immediate success in the antique mall and not enough room to display all of their historic items, Sandy and Bob decided to rent a larger space. As their reputation in the world of antiques grew, the pair resolved to buy their own shop. They opened their very own place in June of 2003 on Highway 395 in Minden, Nevada.

Sandy and Bob have traveled across the country and back a number of times, collecting their favorite antiques along the way. The pair also scours local auctions and estate sales, picking and choosing the highest quality pieces. At Log Cabin Antiques you can find items ranging from knick-knacks to top quality antique furniture, primarily in the country western style. Some of their top sellers include primitive tools, oak desks, brass beds and yard art. Although they sell a wide variety of wares, Sandy and Bob believe that their wide variety of antique furniture, and the fact that Bob is a licensed and certified appraiser is what sets them apart from the competition. Not only does Bob guarantee the value of everything sold in Log Cabin Antiques, but he will also appraise items for anyone who stops by the shop.

Just this past month, an extremely enticing opportunity came Sandy and Bob’s way. While at an auction, the pair learned about a beautiful and historic property that was up for sale in their area. It was an opportunity that they just couldn’t turn down. Starting on the first of this month, Log Cabin Antiques will itself be located inside of an antique- a big yellow Victorian just down the road from the old shop in neighboring Gardnerville.

Sandy and Bob discovered Bags through their daughter, who just happens to be a neighbor and best friend of our very own Sallie. Log Cabin Antiques uses our Basic Brown package, which includes three different sizes of brown bags for all of their different sizes of wares. To dress up these basic browns, Sandy orders our satin wrap tissue paper and raffia in Hunter green. Lastly, to perfectly complement these bags, and to display prices on items in the store, Log Cabin Antiques also uses a customized version of our versatile string tag label.

For each month's featured customer, Bags tries to showcase a customer who has used a unique approach to their packaging, and to share a little about their business with you. Hopefully this provides a bit of insight to how other businesses select their packaging products and to how Bags can help you find the right packaging for your business. Perhaps you can find a business similar to yours among the companies listed here. We continually provide links (see right column) to the past year's selections ... but all our featured customers' pages are also available. Contact one of our sales consultants for more information.
